What do I do first?
Fill the Fresh Wipes container with about one inch of cold/room temp water and 4 - 5 drops of the Fresh Wipes Essential Oil blend. Then add the soft wipes to the container and presto – they are ready to use! Next, prepare the Dirty Wipes container with approximately 2 inches of cold/room temp water and 4 - 5 drops of the Dirty Wipes Essential Oil blend in which to keep the dirty wipes. Once you have used the wipes, place them inside the clever mesh bag in the Dirty Wipes container and there is no need to touch them again!
How do I wash the wipes?
New babies – and adventurous toddlers - create lots of laundry! The Bottoms Up kit does not require any extra washing – and actually, no drying at all! Once you have used the wipes, loosen the drawstring and add the mesh bag of dirty wipes straight into the washing machine with your next load of wash. Your wipes will come out fresh and clean.
What about “big messes?”
As moms, babysitters, or grandmas, we've all changed one of "those" diapers and we know what a challenge they can be! Well, we've got good news for you! Because they're a soft cotton terry cloth, Bottoms Up Baby Wipes have more "traction" than those smooth disposable baby wipes, which makes the clean up process more "efficient".
Do the baby wipes need to be dried before using them?
Nope; just take them from the washer and put them back into the Fresh Baby Wipes Container with a fresh solution of water and essential oils and the kit is ready to go!
Should I use warm or cold water to soak my cloth baby wipes?
It is best to use cold or room temperature water to soak the wipes.
How do I clean the Baby Wipes containers?
Keeping the Baby Wipes containers fresh – both the clean and dirty containers – is easy: rinse them thoroughly every time the essential oil solution is changed. Periodically, the containers should be washed with warm soapy water to assure complete cleanliness.
My baby wipes are leaving “stuff” behind when I clean my baby’s bottom. Why?
You have DWS: Dry Wipe Syndrome. Add more water to the Baby Wipes container – level should be maintained at about an inch or so – so that the wipes are completely soaked without being too drippy.
Are these essential oils safe for my baby?
Both lavender and chamomile are well known for their calming effect and their skin care benefits and offer the added benefit of a wonderful fragrance.
Are the essential oils a problem for sensitive skin?
No, that is one of their strong benefits! In fact, these essential oils – when combined with water – provide a much milder solution with no unnatural or potentially irritating chemicals than do regular baby wipes.
How much water and essential oil do I need to add to the Fresh Baby Wipes container? And the Dirty Baby Wipes container?
About one inch of water is sufficient to soak 25 baby wipes properly along with 4 - 5 drops of the appropriate essential oil blend for the Clean Wipes container. The Dirty Wipes container should contain 2 inches of water along with 4 - 5 drops of the Dirty Wipes essential oil blend.
How long will the bottles of essential oil solutions last?
A lot depends on the number of baby wipes used per day and how frequently the solution is changed. Our rule of thumb is that the bottles included in the kit should last approximately 4 to 6 months.
Where can I get more of the essential oils?
You can order the essential oils right here! In both 10 & 50 ml bottles. Clean Baby Wipes Essential Oil, Dirty Baby Wipes Essential Oil.

What do you suggest for a day out with baby?
We suggest taking a minimum of 8-10 baby wipes (depending on how long you’re planning being out) along with both the Fresh wipe and Dirty wipe travel bags. Whatever you don’t use can be put back into your Fresh Baby Wipes container when you get home.
Do I need to wash all of the bags (Fresh Wipes, Dirty Wipes and mesh bag insert for the Dirty bag) after I’ve used them?
Just the mesh bag insert in the Dirty Baby Wipes Bag needs to be washed. The waterproof bags should only be wiped clean to help the bags maintain their waterproof qualities.
Are the travel bags fully waterproof?
Yes, the travel bags are waterproof, but you should give the fresh wipes a good squeeze before you put them in the bag. That way, they’re moist as opposed to sopping wet and won’t add a lot of liquid to the bags.
When using the soiled wipes with the mesh bag insert, how do you prevent from compromising the outer bag?
Generally you won’t have that much poop on a wipe that will be put into the bag (most of it goes on the diaper, either for chucking if it’s disposable, or flushing if it’s a cloth diaper). You can wash the whole waterproof dirty bag (cool wash, inside out, don’t tumble dry) but unless it’s a really big mess, that generally that isn’t necessary.
Are 25 baby wipes enough? Can I buy more?
Yes, 25 are sufficient if you generally buy one container of disposable wipes a week and you expect to do laundry every other day. If not, you oughta buy more. They are like sheets: it is always nice to have that fresh set of sheets in the closet so you don’t have to do laundry if you would rather take a nap! So it can’t hurt to have an extra set of cloth baby wipes.
What if I have more than one baby? Or both a baby and a toddler? How many wipes should I have on hand?
We suggest one 25 pack per child as a minimum. But it can’t hurt to have a few extra sets around, just in case.
